Is the giant blasting siren really necassary? That can't be the way the volunteers are called in. It would be far too unreliably a means to get people up and have them to the department. I assume most people use a radio of some sort or scanner to keep in tune with the goings on around the area. So how bout we retire that obnoxious horn. I for one refuse to donate money until that thing is turned off. Thank you for your time.
If it was your house on fire you would find that siren a welcome signal that our volunteers are on their way.
Hello from Wausau, WI. USA. Thank you for being firefighters and keeping people safe. I applaud your service to your community. Stay safe and have a great day. Please check out the firefighter tribute pages on my site. http://www.joelgoule….html
Hello...
I just wanted to let someone know that I really enjoyed going through this website. It's current and very informative. It gives me all the information I would need for Fortuna VFD.
Good work, Fortuna FPD!!
Take care,

I just wanted to anonymously say Thank You to all of the firemen and women in this great town! You all do such a great job, someone is always there to respond to any situation and a moments notice. Thank you all so very much.
Very nice website. I was raised and completed high school in Fortuna (1970) moved to Alaska in 1977 and have been a member of the Ketchikan Fire Dept. (Assist.Chief) for 27 years. It is my desire to retire and return to Fortuna someday!
